These are some strange days. I’ve been sheltering in place with my family for two weeks now and I’ve started to have some truly wacky dreams. Last night I dreamt that I was squatting in a New York City apartment because I couldn’t afford to pay rent and while I was trying to evade the landlord, I burned the tip of my index finger on one of those old-fashioned steam radiators. When I woke, the tip of my left index finger was stinging. It hurt for nearly an hour!
When someone says “It’s all in your head” they usually mean that it isn’t real, but the mind is a powerful thing. It can manifest fear and anxiety in your body in a very real way. I think we are all feeling an extra dose of fear and anxiety right now and we could all use some help with that.
As most of you all know by now, I’ve been trying to give a book away for free for a while, but my site has been plagued with glitches, so I haven’t been able to deliver on that promise. Well, I’m happy to say that I believe we finally fixed the problem, so I’m about to start posting Lucitopia for you all to read in the next few days.
I wrote Lucitopia because it made me happy to do it. I never intended to sell it. I’ve never given it to my agent to read, or had it professionally edited. So, please keep that in mind when you read it. I’m sure there could still be some mistakes in it, but that’s not the point. Lucitopia is a fun read and it was written to make you laugh, something I think we all desperately need right now. There is a sweet love story in it and a hot villain. There’s even a unicorn! Although, he’s a bit of a jerk.
Anyway, Lucitopia isn’t perfect, but it is the perfect place to take a breather from the fear and anxiety of right now. If nothing else, it’s free! And you don’t have to leave your house to go to a library to get it.
The first seven chapters are already up. You can access them from my home page, or by scrolling down below.
I’ll be posting new chapters Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on my blog. Just show up and read if you want. Tell anyone you think would enjoy it. There’s no catch, no hoops to jump through. Just a story, and my sincere wish for you all to stay healthy in both body and mind.
