What can I say? Last night was yet another example of why I love to be a YA writer. I get to be hosted by Vroman’s, an amazing independent bookstore in Pasadena… and get to talk about myself. (Something my husband says I’m very good at!)
I get to read aloud from my book. So I guess all those years of theater training weren’t a waste. All I kept thinking was– slow down and project, Angelini!
But best of all, I get to meet YOU. This is the part I love the most. Like meeting Tessa and her supportive father. Tessa writes a blog called From The Bookshelf of T.B. Be sure and check it out.
Dads weren’t the only supportive parents. Moms came too. And I love you for that.
Tell me that this isn’t the most gorgeous head of hair you’ve ever seen. I nearly mugged this girl.
I also love how I get to put the names to the faces. Like Nicole, my Facebook friend. Hi Nicole!
I even get to wish some of you well as you go off to college next year. Like Kristen Cook, who’s just about to tear up Boulder. Go get ‘em girl!
I love how some of you have been inspired by my book to travel, like Jenn and Mary, who are on their way to Nantucket… in search of their own demigods! Good luck, girls!
And finally, I love how I get to meet some of my earliest fans. Like Erin, who runs my fansite. And Little Lauren, who needs no introduction. Homeslice, where are your heels!?
I had such a great time. Thank you all for coming!!
